  • Pet Information: Names, breeds, ages, medical history, behavioral traits, feeding schedules, and veterinary contact details.
  • Home Access Information: Alarm codes, lockbox codes, or instructions for entering your home during scheduled service times.
  • Digital Data: When you visit our website, we may collect technical data such as your IP address, browser type, and operating system via standard web analytics and cookies.
  • Location Data (Background GPS): We collect real-time geographic location data from the mobile devices of service providers (sitters) during active bookings.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect exclusively to operate our business and provide services to you:

  • To schedule and perform dog walking, overnight stays, pet sitting, and pet transport services.
  • To contact you regarding your bookings, send updates (e.g., photos of your pet), and respond to your "IceBreaker" inquiries.
  • To ensure the health and safety of your pet, including providing your pet's medical information to a veterinarian in an emergency.
  • To securely access your home to perform requested services.
  • To process payments and maintain billing records.
  • To actively track visits and generate accurate route maps (Location Data) to ensure transparency during your pet's walk or service. This tracking is strictly deactivated when services are not being actively performed.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We only share your information under the following circumstances:

  • Veterinary Emergencies: If your pet requires immediate medical attention, we will share necessary medical and contact information with the treating veterinarian.
  • Service Providers & Integrations: We use trusted third-party software to run our business, including Google Firebase (data hosting, cloud functions, and user authentication), Square (secure payment processing), Twilio (SMS reminders and notifications), and Mapbox (mapping routes and geolocation visualizations). These providers are bound by their own strict privacy policies.
  • Pet Owners: Real-time location data and generated walk routes collected from our service providers are shared directly with you, the specific pet owner, to provide live updates during active visits.
  • Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the safety, rights, and property of SaviPets, our staff, or the public.

4. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your personal and home access data from unauthorized access or disclosure. Physical keys are kept in secure locations, and digital entry codes are stored in secure, password-protected systems accessible only by authorized SaviPets team members.

Note: While we strive to protect your data, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

5. Your Rights & Choices

You have the right to:

  • Review the personal and pet information we have on file.
  • Request corrections to any inaccurate or outdated information.
  • Request the deletion of your data, provided we are not required to keep it for legal, tax, or business record-keeping purposes.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy. Specifically regarding location data, all real-time GPS tracking data and generated location routes are deleted or securely archived after 90 days.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify active clients of significant changes via email and update the "Effective Date" at the top of this document.
